Mountain biking in Shanghai ?

I have been out mountain biking – in Shanghai! With the help of Google Earth I found a great spot in the outskirts west of Shanghai. The coordinates are 31°14′46.90″N and 121°17′20.64″E. It is a trail that some Atomic-skate dudes have dug out of a long hill, with curves, jumps and tricky turns. It was great fun being able to bike on trails again, and it was not more than an hour bike ride to get there.

Concerts

I and Albert went to the concert in Zongshan Park with the Finnish band Negative supported by the Bergen-band Malice in Wonderland.

This was the first concert for Albert in China. This is not quite right, because all five of us was in Grand Theatre to see Alma’s cello teacher performing Peer Gynt with Shanghai Philarmonic Orchestra. Great music, but poor theatre / dance / narration for us who know it so well.

I was at the JZ Club in 46 West Fuxing Road with Dagfinn Bach and saw the Swedish Funk Unit. Many excellent Chinese musicians played with them and made it quite uplifting after seeing a less exciting US cool-jazz group at House of Blues and Jazz in 158 South Maoming Road.

Practicing for the 400 m race next week

This morning Alma went with coach Otto to the track at SU for a good workout. The 400 m race next week will be a blast for Alma, who is quite strong in the field of Chinese classmates.
